Torah Together!

Welcome to your reading plan for the first five books of the Bible! These five books are known as the Pentateuch (literally “five scrolls” in Greek) or Torah (“law” in Hebrew). These books contain the foundational narratives, laws, and teachings central to the Hebrew Bible.

Some Christians find it tempting to skim through or entirely skip, but so much of what we read in the story of Jesus and the writings of Paul have their roots in these pages. We’ll never fully understand what Jesus did if we neglect the very Scriptures that shaped the New Testament.

If you’re a little intimidated by the laws in Leviticus or daunted by Deuteronomy, don’t worry; we’ll provide support as we go. Each daily reading has a summary of what you’re reading, relevant New Testament references, and a place to write down observations and questions. So don't let some genealogy or strange commandment scare you off. If you give it time and attention, you’ll uncover the beautiful principles that God had for His people!

Plus, we’ll be doing this together as a church family. So, get with your small group, ask questions, take notes, and explore! Whether you're a seasoned explorer of Scripture or just dipping your toes into these ancient waters, there's something here for everyone.

Happy reading!
